Built for critical listening

A focused comparison tool with nothing hidden

ABC Player keeps the transport simple and makes the signal relationship explicit, so every judgment is based on the files you actually selected.

Shared transport

Two native audio players are scheduled from the same host time and exact frame offset. Play, pause, stop and seek apply to both.

Live difference

Difference monitoring mixes A at +1 and B at −1 in real time. No temporary difference file or stale cache is involved.

Switch without interruption

A, B and C change only the monitoring gains. Playback stays on the same frame instead of being restarted or rescheduled.

Exact compatibility

Sample rate, channel count and frame count must match. An incompatible pair is rejected before comparison begins.

Lossless sources

Compare WAV, AIFF, FLAC or lossless ALAC in an .m4a container, in mono or stereo.

Comfortable appearance

Use the dark interface, switch to light, or follow the current macOS appearance automatically.

The listening path

Three views of one moment

Load A as the reference and B as the processed version. Once the pair passes the compatibility check, all three monitor choices follow the same playhead.

  • A Source plays the original file.
  • B Cleaned plays the restored or processed file.
  • C Difference plays everything present in A that is absent from B.

A difference you can trust

No automatic fixing behind the comparison

If the files do not have the same duration, format timeline or channel layout, ABC Player tells you instead of silently changing the evidence.

Matching files remain sample-aligned through playback and seeking.
Identical files produce silence in C Difference.
A difference that contains music is a useful reason to inspect the processing.
The application

One clear window from file selection to comparison

The interface shows the selected files, their exact format, the active monitor and the shared playback position at a glance.

Compatibility

Native, lossless and exact

ABC Player is intentionally strict because a meaningful difference requires two files that describe the same sample timeline.
