Summary
This policy applies to the VinylRest ABC Player native macOS application. The section on support requests also explains what happens when you voluntarily use the separate VinylRest website contact form.
Audio files
You explicitly choose A and B through the standard macOS Open panel. The application receives read-only access to those files and processes their audio locally on your Mac for synchronized playback and live difference monitoring.
- Selected audio is not uploaded or sent to VinylRest.
- A and B are not edited, overwritten, moved or renamed.
- C is calculated live as A minus B and is not written as a third file.
- The app does not save persistent file bookmarks or reopen a project on a later launch.
Local settings and system timing
The application stores only its appearance choice—Dark, Light or Automatic—in the standard preferences area on your Mac. Native system timing APIs support playback coordination and elapsed-time behavior. These uses remain on the device and are not used to identify you.
Analytics, tracking and advertising
VinylRest ABC Player contains no analytics SDK, advertising SDK or third-party tracking SDK. It does not create a user account, advertising profile or listening history, and it does not track you across apps or websites.
Network access and external links
The application's audio comparison functions do not require a network connection. If you choose the VinylRest footer link, macOS opens the VinylRest website in your default browser. The application does not embed the website and does not receive your browser activity.
Support requests
If you voluntarily use the ABC Player support form, you provide your name, email address, topic, subject and message to VinylRest. That information is used to read and reply to your request. The support form is a website service and is separate from the Mac application.
The website may process standard connection information needed to deliver and protect the service, such as the request time, requested page, browser information and network address. The contact service also uses the network address transiently to limit repeated submissions. This operational website data is not sent by the ABC Player app and is not used to build an advertising or listening profile.
Children's privacy
The application does not knowingly collect personal information from children or from any other user.
Changes to this policy
If the application's data practices change, VinylRest will update this page and its effective date before publishing an affected release. The App Store privacy answers will be updated when required.
