Open Settings from the application menu or press ⌘,. Changes are stored for the next launch. The sections below explain whether each setting takes effect immediately or at the next processing start.
General
- Enable HTTP server
- Starts the built-in WebApp and control API on the local network. Disable it when remote access is not needed.
- Port
- The listening port. The default is
8001. Choose another unused port if a different service already uses it. - WebApp
- Shows a physical LAN address rather than localhost. Select Open to launch it in the Mac browser, or type the same address on another device.
- Start audio processing when the application opens
- Automatically starts the previously selected input, output and format after launch. Leave this off while establishing a new audio setup.
- Automatically check for updates
- Uses the signed public Beta feed. Updates are downloaded only after confirmation and are never installed automatically.
- Check for Updates…
- Checks the Beta feed immediately. If an accepted update becomes ready while audio is running, processing continues until you stop it; installation then proceeds from a strictly idle transport.
Audio
Playback buffering
- Low latency
- The smallest reserve. Use only after proving the complete hardware path is stable. It has the least protection against a late device callback.
- Balanced
- A middle ground for systems that remain stable with a smaller buffer than Safe.
- Safe
- The default and recommended first choice. It preserves the largest reserve against dropouts.
The displayed NG2 value is a steady-state software-latency estimate for the selected sample rate and buffering profile. It includes the fixed aligned NRNG delay whether NR is enabled or bypassed. Core Audio, the interface, its driver and downstream equipment add their own delay. A new buffering profile takes effect the next time processing starts.
NRNG noise profile
- Maximum capture level
- The loudest RMS level accepted for the four consecutive 250 ms windows that make the one-second P65 noise profile. Range: −79 to −30 dBFS. Default: −55 dBFS.
Raise this value only when a noisy record never produces a valid profile. Values above −55 dBFS make acquisition easier but increase the risk of learning quiet music. The change applies to the next Relearn action or the next qualified side, not to the active profile.
Side detection
- Silence duration
- How long the input must remain below the threshold before the end of a record side is assumed. Default: 4 seconds.
- Silence level
- The amplitude threshold for pronounced silence. Default: 0.01%.
At the end of a side, cumulative grading and recognition pause, Now Playing clears and the last grade remains visible. When audio returns, two seconds of sustained input qualify the new side before cumulative grading resets, Shazam restarts and a fresh NRNG profile acquisition begins. The short DeClick and DeCrackle Auto observation continues during the pause.
UI
Audio meters
- Style
- Choose Blue, Green or Gradient. The same color style is used by every meter in the Mac application and WebApp.
- Display
- Choose Continuous bars or Segmented meters. Older browsers that cannot render the configured gradient safely use a compatible fallback.
Full-screen alignment
Mac and WebApp immersive views have independent alignment switches. When enabled in landscape, the Now Playing heading aligns with the top of the artwork and the meters align with its bottom. When disabled, the heading may sit above the artwork and the meters use the bottom of the available column. Portrait layout is unchanged.
Grading
- Correction profile
- Select Paranoid, Light, Mid or High, ordered from gentlest to strongest, or use your saved Custom profile.
- Clicks / s max
- The upper reference-detection boundary for M through F. P has no upper boundary.
- DeClick max
- The highest sensitivity DeClick Auto may use at the end of each grade.
- DeCrackle max
- The highest sensitivity DeCrackle Auto may use at the end of each grade.
- NR max
- The grade maximum followed by S150/S200 NR Auto. The release product clamps every effective value to the NRNG limit of 12 dB.
- Apply
- Validates the complete table and saves edits as Custom. Changes apply immediately without restarting or flushing the audio transport.
- Restore Defaults
- Restores the built-in Paranoid table.
Thresholds must increase strictly. DeClick and DeCrackle maxima accept 0–100%; 0 is an explicit Auto bypass for that stage and grade. DeCrackle must never exceed DeClick on the same row, and neither curve may decrease as condition worsens. NR maxima remain non-decreasing; values above 12 dB are accepted by the shared profile format but are applied as 12 dB by S150/S200.
License
- Status
- Shows whether Live processing is enabled, this Mac's installation name, the signed licensee identity and the next validation or usable-until date when applicable.
- Validate now
- Contacts the license service immediately. Use it when periodic validation is due or after restoring Internet access.
- Deactivate this Mac…
- Releases the installation slot. Stop audio before deactivating, and keep the original key because the application does not retain it.
- Activation and recovery
- When access is unavailable, the tab accepts a key, recovers an existing key by email or requests a free Beta license.
